Pinky Notes and AI Research

Pinky is a voice-notes app for microphone-equipped Pebble smartwatches, inspired by the idea behind the Index 01: capturing a thought without reaching for your phone.

Since I cannot really wear a ring at work, I wanted to bring that same low-friction experience to something already on my wrist. With Pinky set as a Pebble Quick Launch shortcut, a long press from the watchface opens directly into dictation. Once transcribed, the note is saved to the phone.

Pinky currently includes:

  • a phone-local note library with search, copy, delete, and export

  • optional AI research through OpenRouter using your own API key and preferred model

  • configurable voice commands such as “research”

  • optional email delivery for notes, research results, and daily or weekly digests

  • support for Pinky Mail, EmailJS, or a private HTTPS relay

The core note-taking functionality works without a self-hosted server. AI and email features are entirely optional.

Pinky is designed for microphone-equipped Pebbles, including the Time, Time Steel, Time Round, Pebble 2, Pebble 2 Duo, Time 2, and Round 2.

The goal is simple: press, speak, save. From there, Pinky can either stay a lightweight voice-note tool or become a small research and capture assistant.
